Senior running back Jaidyn Anderson knows the Kankakee Valley offense will lean heavily on him this fall. He welcomes the responsibility.
“If I have a great game, that’s all due to my line,” Anderson said. “They’re doing the hard work in the trenches. Everything I do is because of them, and my fullback, too.”
Head coach Kirk Kennedy said Anderson will be the centerpiece of a more traditional approach. “We’re going to line up in the I-formation and establish the run,” Kennedy said. “It’s not a lot of tricks. We’ll throw some play action, but our offense is going to run through Jaidyn.”
Kennedy said toughness and execution will be the focus. “We want to be the toughest team on the field every Friday,” he said. “If we block well and don’t beat ourselves, we’ll be in games.”
Anderson said he’s motivated by brotherhood. “I’ve played with these guys since Pop Warner,” he said. “I don’t want to let them down. We’ve built that chemistry.”
