Senior lineman Max Duttlinger has spent his career doing the dirty work in the trenches, and he wouldn’t trade it.
“I was thrown into that spot sophomore year because we needed it filled, and I never looked back,” Duttlinger said. “It doesn’t matter who’s running behind me — that’s my duty. I’m not going to let them down.”
Head coach Kirk Kennedy praised his consistency. “This will be his third year starting at left guard,” Kennedy said. “He’s a tough kid, and he’s critical to what we do offensively.”
Duttlinger said he doesn’t need headlines. “Some guys worry about stats,” he said. “I don’t. My role is to open holes and protect. That’s enough for me.”
