Kankakee Valley earned a 57–47 conference road victory over Highland.
According to the match report, the contest remained tight through the opening half, with Kankakee Valley holding a narrow edge after two quarters as both teams traded defensive stops and struggled to create consistent separation. Highland stayed within striking distance behind balanced scoring, but the Kougars began to assert control coming out of halftime.
Kankakee Valley delivered its strongest stretch in the third quarter, outscoring Highland 21–17 to build momentum and take command of the game. The Kougars pushed the tempo offensively while tightening defensively, forcing tougher looks and limiting Highland’s transition opportunities. That momentum carried into the fourth quarter, where Kankakee Valley held Highland to just four points over the final eight minutes to close out the win.
Junior Luke Ehrhardt led the Kougars with 24 points, connecting on five 3-pointers to fuel the offensive surge. Senior Zack Mikash added 20 points and provided a steady interior presence, while seniors Matthew Rose and Jaidyn Anderson contributed on the glass and helped anchor the defensive effort late. Kankakee Valley’s balanced execution and discipline down the stretch proved decisive.
