Kankakee Valley boys basketball lost 64-43 to La Porte in a non-conference matchup.
The game saw Kankakee Valley working to stay competitive throughout the contest but ultimately unable to keep pace as La Porte built separation over the course of the game. The Panthers continued to battle defensively and look for scoring opportunities, but La Porte capitalized on key stretches to extend the margin. Despite the final score, Kankakee Valley showed effort on both ends of the floor and continued to compete through all four quarters, according to Kankakee Valley High School.
The Panthers were led by a group of juniors and seniors who anchored the rotation. Juniors Carson Armstrong, Luke Ehrhardt, Jase Barrera, and Jon Misiora provided perimeter support and ball movement, while seniors Zack Mikash, Isaac Deardorff, Jaidyn Anderson, and Matthew Rose supplied leadership and physical play across the lineup. Up next, Kankakee Valley will host Hanover Central on Feb. 20, with tipoff scheduled for 7 p.m. The last meeting between the two teams took place Feb. 21 of last season, when Kankakee Valley fell 66-49 at Hanover Central, according to Kankakee Valley High School.
The loss marks another challenging non-conference outing for Kankakee Valley as they continue their regular-season schedule.
