The Munster varsity volleyball team emerged victorious against Kankakee Valley in a closely contested home conference match, winning 3-2.
The event took place on October 7, 2025, at Munster High School in Munster, Indiana.
The Lady Kougars initially gained an advantage by taking the first two sets with scores of 25-20 and 25-18. However, Munster rallied to claim the next three sets with scores of 25-23, 25-17, and 15-11. Kankakee Valley’s early performance was marked by sharp ball control and energy, led by junior Avery Diener and setter Gabrielle Diener. Despite their eventual loss, the Kougars’ effort demonstrated their improvement and ability to compete against top-tier conference opponents.
For Munster, senior Elia Moore played a pivotal role in defense with a team-high in digs and receptions. Middle hitter Alex Rucinski contributed crucial blocks that helped shift momentum in the later sets. The Mustangs’ comeback was supported by consistent serving and strong communication under pressure.
Both teams displayed determination and composure throughout a match characterized by long rallies and competitive play from start to finish.
