Kankakee Valley earned a nonconference home victory Thursday night, defeating North Judson-San Pierre 43–32.
The game took place on January 8 at Kankakee Valley High School in Wheatfield, Indiana. According to reports, the Kougars established control early and maintained their lead throughout the game. They utilized balanced scoring and steady defense to gain separation in each quarter. Kankakee Valley outscored North Judson-San Pierre 15–14 in the opening period and then limited the Bluejays to just nine points combined in the second and third quarters, creating a comfortable margin. The defense forced 22 turnovers, preventing North Judson-San Pierre from establishing a consistent offensive rhythm.
Offensively, Kankakee Valley saw contributions from various players. Junior Olivia Adams led the team with 13 points and 11 rebounds, providing a strong presence in the paint. Junior Mallorie Rose contributed eight points, while sophomores Camry Krueger and Jenna Walker each added six points. The Kougars also dominated the rebounding battle with 28 total boards and converted crucial free throws to maintain their lead as the game progressed.
Looking ahead, Kankakee Valley is set to host Andrean at 7 p.m. on January 23 in another nonconference matchup. The two teams last faced off on January 24 of the previous year when Andrean defeated Kankakee Valley 45–38 on the road.
