The Kankakee Valley varsity girls volleyball team isn’t just winning matches—it’s building unity and depth as the season progresses. Saturday’s 2–1 victory over Kouts illustrated the Kougars’ growth in both strategy and teamwork.
More than just a few standout performances, the team showcased a balanced rotation. Multiple hitters contributed in key moments, while back-row defenders communicated effectively to keep rallies alive. That depth allowed the squad to roll through rotations without sacrificing tempo or energy.
Leadership from upperclassmen like Erin Stewart and Adeline Winters has provided stability, guiding younger players with calm execution. Those mentoring roles, paired with a strong practice structure emphasizing ball control and versatile formations, have helped Kankakee Valley adapt under pressure.
As the team continues to circuit through different matchups, its growing cohesion—both in coverage and offensive options—could become a defining strength. Maintaining that balance across all rotations may yet make the Kougars a formidable presence moving into conference play.
