Kankakee Valley’s boys wrestling team finished fourth overall at the Northwest Crossroads Conference Championships, highlighted by multiple podium performances and a balanced scoring effort across the lineup.
According to the tournament results, Hunter Brumley led the Kougars with a third-place finish in the 126-pound category. Jake Fitzpatrick also achieved a third-place standing at 175 pounds. Silas Woodworth earned fourth place at 165 pounds, alongside Dezimen Griffin (106), Ayden VanWienen (113), Noah Stabnik (132), and Cash Sowder (190) as fellow fourth-place finishers.
Additional contributions came from Thor Jacobsen, who placed fifth at 150 pounds, Ryker Capellari with a fifth-place finish at 157 pounds, and Kanen Kawczynski securing fifth place at 215 pounds. Joey Patton finished sixth in the 138-pound category, while Triston Wireman took sixth place at 144 pounds. Kankakee Valley recorded forfeits in the 120 and 285-pound categories.
The combined efforts resulted in a total of 133 team points, securing a fourth-place position overall and demonstrating depth across weight classes. The team’s next competition is scheduled for January 31 at Crown Point High School during the IHSAA Sectional, with matches beginning at 8 a.m.
