The Kankakee Valley Kougars girls’ soccer team concluded their 2025 season with an 11-6-1 record, securing fourth place in the Northwest Crossroads Conference.
The Kougars began their season on August 19 against Illiana Christian and subsequently achieved consecutive victories over La Porte and Portage. Following these matches, Kankakee Valley found their rhythm, overpowering non-conference opponents with a strong scoring offense.
Conference play posed challenges for the Kougars as they faced competitive teams such as Munster, Hobart, and Hanover Central. Key victories over Highland and Lowell kept Kankakee Valley in the upper half of the standings.
In postseason play, Kankakee Valley competed against Hanover Central at the Class 2A tournament hosted by Hanover. Despite a determined effort, their journey ended with a 4-1 loss to the host Wildcats.
Throughout the season, the Kougars scored 64 goals while conceding only 35, demonstrating their ability to compete with any team on their schedule. Their combination of speed, technical skill, and creativity in attack made them formidable opponents during the fall.
Looking ahead, Kankakee Valley aims to build on this year’s achievements with a returning core set to pursue a deeper postseason run in 2026.
