The Kankakee Valley girls basketball team earned a 64–44 road victory over Munster in a conference matchup.
The match took place on January 17 at Munster High School in Munster, Indiana. The Kougars established an early lead with a 23-point first quarter. Junior Olivia Adams led the team with 23 points, showcasing efficient shooting and perfect free-throw performance, going 7-for-7. Sophomore Camry Krueger contributed 17 points and played a key role in controlling the game’s pace. According to the report, sophomore Jenna Walker added 12 points and maintained accuracy at the free-throw line, finishing 4-for-4. Junior Mallorie Rose also scored 12 points, including a three-pointer, and was instrumental in rebounding efforts as Kankakee Valley dominated the boards.
Kankakee Valley’s defensive strategy was effective, creating scoring opportunities through turnovers and disrupting Munster’s offensive rhythm. The team capitalized on these chances by completing 15 of their 23 free throws.
Looking ahead, Kankakee Valley is set to face Portage in another conference matchup on January 29 at 7 p.m. Their previous encounter resulted in a decisive win for Kankakee Valley with a score of 55–32 on January 30 last year.
