The Kankakee Valley High School boys cross country team heads into the 2025 season under the guidance of head coach Tim Adams, aiming to improve upon last year’s performance and make a stronger mark in the Northwest Crossroads Conference.
Adams returns a core group of veteran runners familiar with regional course styles and competitive pressures. Summer workouts have emphasized increasing endurance through tempo runs, strengthening hill repeats, and simulating race pace conditions. These sessions are designed to sharpen athletes’ strategic pacing and physical stamina.
The season kicks off with several invitationals intended to fine-tune lineups, test early-season form, and measure progress against conference competitors. As league meets approach, the coaching staff will continue refining race strategies—including optimal pack positioning and finishing acceleration.
With a blend of athletic maturity and rising talent, plus targeted preparation under Adams’s leadership, the boys squad is poised to challenge for league honors. This fall, the Kougars aim not just to participate, but to compete with authority and build momentum toward sectional qualification.
