Kankakee Valley’s girls golf team enters the fall season under the guidance of the coaching staff, bringing a mix of experience, skill development, and competitive ambition. With regional qualifiers returning and talented newcomers pushing for varsity roles, the program has positioned itself for growth in 2025.
Preseason training has centered on mastering the fundamentals—reading greens, improving swing rhythm, and developing smart course strategies for various conditions. The staff has placed a strong emphasis on the short game, focusing on approach shots, bunker play, and consistent putting under pressure. Scrambles and simulated tournament rounds have helped sharpen physical technique while building the mental resilience needed for high-stakes competition.
Opening tournaments and early-season match play on familiar home courses will provide valuable opportunities to build confidence and measure progress against quality opponents. These events will also give the staff a chance to fine-tune pairings and identify strengths within the lineup before conference play begins in earnest.
With a balance of returning experience, emerging depth, and a collective focus on steady improvement, the girls golf team is poised to climb the conference rankings and make a stronger impression in postseason competition this year.
