Kankakee Valley High School’s girls tennis team enters the 2025 season with renewed determination and a focus on steady improvement. Returning players bring valuable match experience, while younger athletes are eager to earn varsity spots and contribute to the team’s depth.
Preseason practices have emphasized serve accuracy, consistent returns, and improved footwork, with players working in both singles and doubles rotations to maximize versatility. Coaches have encouraged strategic play, stressing the importance of court awareness and mental toughness in close matches.
The Kougars will open their season with non-conference contests that will provide early tests of lineup combinations before heading into Northwest Crossroads Conference play. With a schedule that includes strong regional opponents, the team aims to sharpen its skills and build confidence throughout the spring.
With a mix of veteran leadership and developing talent, Kankakee Valley is optimistic about competing at a high level and making a deeper run in postseason play.
