Kankakee Valley High School is set to commence the 2025–26 wrestling season with a home match against Lowell, a formidable opponent. This event marks the beginning of a schedule that includes early tournament competitions.
According to the school’s athletic department, the Kougars will begin their competition on Monday, November 24, at 6:30 PM CST at Kankakee Valley High School in Wheatfield, Indiana. This will be followed by participation in the NN Invite on Saturday, November 29, at 9:00 AM CST at North Newton Jr/Sr High School in Morocco, Indiana.
The team aims to build on its development across various weight categories after securing several key dual victories last year. Returning upperclassmen are expected to bring valuable experience to crucial matches, while younger wrestlers will vie for positions in the varsity lineup. The NN Invite is anticipated to be the Kougars’ first significant challenge of the season, providing multiple matches in one day and offering early insights into their progress before conference play begins.
Following the NN Invite, Kankakee Valley is preparing for a competitive period throughout December that includes additional duals and tournament events leading up to the holiday break. Details regarding finalized opponents will be included in the next weekly schedule release.
Last season, Kankakee Valley faced Lowell and lost that dual by a margin of 66–8. This previous encounter serves as a benchmark as the Kougars aim for continued improvement this year.
