The Kankakee Valley High School battled through four quarters but was unable to overcome the high-flying 21st Century Charter, falling 90–49.
The game took place on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 21st Century Charter School.
Kankakee Valley ran into a fast, aggressive 21st Century squad that set the tone early with pace, pressure, and steady perimeter shooting, building a 23–15 lead after one quarter and stretching it to 54–27 by halftime. The Kougars stayed committed to their half‑court execution, working for touches in the paint, battling for second‑chance rebounds, and finding a rhythm with 16 points in the third. Even as the 21st Century continued to score in transition and control the tempo, Kankakee Valley maintained effort through all four quarters, using the matchup as a chance to sharpen fundamentals and gain experience against a high‑tempo opponent.
Up next, Kankakee Valley Kougars will travel to North Judson-San Pierre Bluejays for a non-conference game on Thursday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m. The Kougars will go into the game with an overall record of 5-17.
The teams last met on February 28, 2025, when the Kougars defeated the Bluejays 50-31 in a home non-conference game.
