Kankakee Valley’s baseball team showcased dominance on both sides of the ball in a 10–0 shutout win over River Forest.
The game was played on Friday, May 15, at Kankakee Valley High School.
Senior pitcher Declan Murr was untouchable, firing six no‑hit innings while striking out 13 and walking five. His command and poise set the tone, and the Kougars’ defense backed him with steady play. Offensively, Kankakee Valley spread its scoring across four innings, starting with a run in the second, adding two in the fourth, three in the fifth, and sealing the victory with four more in the sixth.
The lineup delivered timely hits throughout. Lucas Parker led the charge with a perfect 3‑for‑3 day, scoring three runs and ripping two doubles. Hunter Munoz added two hits and two runs, while Carlos Cruz drove in three runs with a clutch hit. Jake Fitzpatrick contributed an RBI and a run scored, and Rex Wilkins chipped in with a hit and a run.
With Murr’s no‑hit gem and a balanced nine‑hit attack, the Kougars controlled every inning. Their blend of pitching power and offensive execution underscored a complete team effort, securing a decisive non‑conference victory.
