Kougars steal seven bases in 12–6 loss

Kankakee Valley battled throughout but fell 12–6 to Hebron on Saturday, May 23, at Kankakee Valley High School.

The Hawks struck first in the second inning, scoring five runs on two hits and seven walks. They added three more in the third, capitalizing on a sacrifice fly from Cole Trosien and an RBI from Zac Peeler. Hebron later sealed the game with a four‑run sixth inning, finishing with seven hits and 12 runs overall.

The Kougars answered with three runs in the bottom of the third, then added one in the fifth and two more in the sixth to stay within reach. Offensively, Declan Murr drove in a run and finished 1‑for‑4, while Keaton Wagner and Hunter Muñoz each added hits. KV totaled three hits but showed aggressiveness on the bases, stealing seven bags as a team. Zack Mikash led with three steals, and Murr added two.

On the mound, Murr started and allowed five runs in 1.2 innings. Will Chestnut provided two scoreless innings in relief, striking out one. Camden Murray worked 3.1 innings, striking out four while yielding seven runs, three earned.

Despite the loss, KV showcased speed and determination, pushing runs across in multiple innings and battling until the final out.
