Kankakee Valley’s baseball team turned in a commanding performance, defeating South Central 12–2 in a non‑conference game.
The matchup was played Saturday, May 16, at Kankakee Valley High School, where the Kougars showcased both offensive firepower and steady pitching in front of their home crowd.
KV wasted no time establishing control, scoring twice in the first inning before breaking the game open with a five‑run third. They added three more in the fourth and two in the fifth, keeping pressure on South Central throughout. Senior Hunter Munoz led the attack with two hits, three RBIs, and two runs scored, while sophomore Brady Flick added two hits, three RBIs, and a stolen base. Junior Jake Fitzpatrick chipped in with a hit and an RBI, and sophomore Rex Wilkins contributed a run and a double. The Kougars’ lineup produced eight hits and nine RBIs overall, spreading contributions across the order.
On the mound, Fitzpatrick delivered a strong outing, allowing just two runs while striking out five. The defense backed him with clean play, committing only three errors while recording 15 putouts.
With aggressive baserunning, timely hitting, and reliable pitching, KV controlled every phase of the game, sealing a decisive 12–2 victory that underscored their depth and balance.
